Now, I'm technically Cybergoth by appearance and musical tastes, but in literature, stylisticly and in ethics, Cybergoth and Cyberpunk are one and the same.
What is Cyberpunk?
Seen the film Akira? That's Cyberpunk. Blade Runner? That's Cyberpunk too.
This is the genre that I work with, Sci-Fi but of a darker leaning, here's what TV Tropes has to say on the genre.
Now, on that page are two brilliant quotations on the matter. I'm posting them both here now as I really like them.
"Anything that can be done to a rat can be done to a human being. And we can do most anything to rats. This is a hard thing to think about, but it's the truth. It won't go away because we cover our eyes. THAT is cyberpunk."
Bruce Sterling
"Transhumanism is about how technology will eventually help us overcome the problems that have, up until now, been endemic to human nature. Cyberpunk is about how technology won't."
Stephenls of RPG.Net, on the difference between transhumanism and cyberpunk
